New Port, New Beginnings: Alicante
Alicante Cruise Port has seen remarkable success since Global Ports Holding took over operations in March 2023.
The Port hosted 75 cruise calls in 2023, including 18 turnaround calls, marking a notable 40% surge compared to the previous year. Notably, cruise passenger numbers experienced a substantial uptick, soaring by 50% from 2022 to an impressive total of 180,000. Looking ahead, 2024 is poised for even greater achievements, with projections anticipating 95 calls and approximately 200,000 passengers. Furthermore, by the beginning of June, we look forward to commencing operations with our newly refurbished terminal, poised to elevate the guest experience at the Alicante Cruise Port.
The city of Alicante and the various institutional bodies, companies and civil society of Alicante and its province, the Costa Blanca, are celebrating the arrival of Global Ports Holding in this city, not only for the promotion and management of the cruise ship terminal of the Port of Alicante, which is already highly valued by the cruise ship passengers themselves in the various satisfaction surveys carried out at the cruise ship terminal, but also for the increased economic and social impact generated by the arrival of cruise ships and cruise passengers visiting this special tourist enclave that is Alicante and the Costa Blanca.
Gastronomy, shopping, culture, historical heritage sites, handcrafts, sand beaches, festivals, are all the amazing things that await the visitors of Alicante and Costa Blanca.
